The
Life and Times of an Industrial Union
At their National Conference in September 2000, The Industrial, Wood and Allied
Workers of Canada launched a book relating their history. Entitled "The IWA in
Canada: The life and times of an Industrial Union", the book is an account of
the Union’s history in Canada from the early days to the present.
Your Local, then the IWA-Canada Local 2995, took the initiative to donate one
copy to each secondary and post-secondary school libraries, and each public
libraries located in their jurisdiction, from Hornepayne to New Liskeard,
including the towns of Timmins and Chapleau.
We feel that by having our history readily available to the public, people will
be more apt to read about and understand our movement.
Members interested in purchasing a copy may contact the Local's office at
1-705-335-2289 or 1-888-868-8802 (toll free).
